New Samick Grands NSG-186

NSG-186

There are many people thinking about buying a grand piano, but never do.
There are many reasons.  Some believe that a baby grand piano will meet their requirements,
often start renting a sub-standard model and become disheartened because the sound just
isn’t suitable for professional performers.
Conversely some believe the only acceptable type of piano is a concert grand sized piano,
but withhold purchasing anything because a piano that size is financially beyond their grasp.
Others simply cannot decide which advanced level grand piano offers the best sound and
value for money from all the brands in the market.  They do not want to pay excessively
for a brand name, but they still want a leading piano in the world.

The Samick NSG186 provides a resolution to this problem.  Performers and professionals
will recognise that the sound quality of the NSG186 grand piano far exceeds other pianos
of similar 186cm or 6 feet 1inch length in the market.  This is due to the shape of
the body allowing the bass string to be 9.2cm longer and the soundboard 72 cm² larger
than other grand pianos the same size. Also, in contrast to many other pianos of this calibre,
the Samick NSG series is not over priced, making an investment in the NSG186 a real
opportunity for many people who otherwise may not have believed purchasing a first-class
grand piano was possible.

The Samick NSG186 is an exemplary piano for school auditoriums, conservatorium practice
studios, hotel function rooms, entertainment venues, advanced students to music industry
professionals and perceptive buyers hoping to discover a unique and exceptional experience.

Fender Kurt Cobain Jaguar

New Fender Kurt Cobain Jaguar® Guitar

Fender is very proud to introduce one of the most distinctive signature models in its history, the Kurt Cobain Jaguar guitar. The instrument is meticulously modeled on the battered 1965 Jaguar that the Nirvana singer, guitarist and songwriter wielded during the heady and meteoric early-’90s era when the band burst out of the Pacific Northwest, ruled rock and led a musically stunning and culturally subversive movement.

Fender craftsmen have reproduced Cobain’s battle-hardened left-handed Jaguar down to the last unusual detail, including its worn finish, dual humbucking pickups and unique electronics and controls (which were already in place when Kurt acquired the guitar in summer 1991).

Unique features include an alder body with Road Worn aged finish and hardware treatment, bound fretboard with pearloid dot markers, Stratocaster headstock shape with 1950s-style “spaghetti” logo under the finish, DiMarzio® humbucking DP103 PAF 36th Anniversary neck pickup and DP100 Super Distortion bridge pickup, triple knurled “chrome-dome” knob configuration (volume-volume-tone), three-position toggle switch, black chrome Adjusto-Matic™ bridge and Gotoh® sealed tuners. The guitar is available in right- and left-handed versions.

Accessories include a black textured vinyl hard-shell case and an exclusive Fender Kurt Cobain book featuring extensive photos and commentary by Charles Peterson and an insightful interview with Nirvana guitar tech Earnie Bailey.

The Korg OASYS - Maintaining a Position of Leadership
Korg has always taken a position of leadership, starting from our early days making analog synthesizers through our pioneering of the music workstation concept. Next, it was our state-of-the-art modeling/DSP synthesis and effects developments, our innovations in digital recording and our implementation of the groundbreaking KARMA technology. To put it simply, the Korg OASYS brings together over 40 years of refined expertise in making the finest and most intuitive music workstation in the world.

Korg Designs a Purpose-Driven, Feature-Rich Synth Workstation
Korg designed the OASYS, a fully functional synth workstation, to provide a full set of audio production tools to the demanding musician, and to reflect the changing nature of today's music making process. The OASYS is a music workstation that brings together the world's most powerful synthesizer, studio quality effects processing, second-generation KARMA technology, advanced MIDI sequencing, 16-track audio HD recording with CD burning plus a flexible MIDI control surface - all into one elegant instrument.

Powered by an ultra fast computer processor and running newly developed proprietary software atop Linux underpinnings, Korg OASYS offers all the benefits of a variable software system, backed by the hardware integrity that can only come from a fully integrated instrument design.

For this technology to be beneficial, it must remain accessible. Highlighted by a 10.4" color TouchView display, the front panel of this music workstation features a vast array of assignable control elements - pads, sliders, joysticks, knobs, ribbon, etc... all designed to provide effortless fingertip control. Moreover, while OASYS is a music workstation with a world unto itself, it can still play nice with others. The back panel offers a wealth of analog and digital inputs and outputs, including USB 2.0.

It went on to become the best selling keyboard workstation in history, and was further expanded and enhanced through the T and O1/W series. Trinity defined a new level of innovations including touch screen technology and configurable effects, and was the forbearer of the successful TRITON range of products.

Korg Redefines the Keyboard Workstation Category Once Again.
The Korg M3 features a number of innovations distilled from the flagship OASYS including the EDS (Enhanced Definition Synthesis) sound generator derived from the HD-1 engine design, the advanced second-generation KARMA functionality, and the multi-purpose control surface. Adding innovations such as the new concept of "virtualized hardware" that allows an even closer integration with DAW systems, Drum Tracks which provide an instant groove to play along with, and the new "Korg Komponent System" concept that facilitates more flexible system construction, this keyboard workstation/sampler opens a new and exciting page in music making. Plain and simple, the Korg M3 is the keyboard workstation that rightfully deserves to wear the "M" that started it all.

Korg Wavedrum

New Korg Wavedrum
The Power of the Dark Side
Step away from the ordinary. Now you can stand out from the crowd with the Wavedrum Black Limited Edition. Featuring an unmistakably premium look, the Wavedrum Black is finished with a solid black metallic rim and an exclusive BLACK SUEDE™ Remo drum head – projecting a totally different vibe than the cool aura of the original silver scheme. With the Wavedrum Black Limited Edition, you'll find yourself inspired like never before.

Wavedrum – Unprecedented sound, response, and performance
Sonically rich, programmable, and intensely sensitive, this 2nd generation Wavedrum is bursting with more than enough power and expression to create its own musical legend. The extreme dynamic range challenges the response of an acoustic instrument. Wavedrum responds instantly to any and all playing styles, from subtly-nuanced tapping and stroking to aggressive, rhythmic assaults. From traditional acoustic percussion instruments to unique sounds previously impossible to obtain, Wavedrum serves up an enticing treasure trove of sounds. With Wavedrum, you're always in control. Instruments that normally require special techniques to play, such as tabla, conga, etc., can be played with ease. Create your own unique performance style, filled with unparalleled levels of expression and originality. Built to travel, the compact and lightweight Wavedrum is ideal wherever your musical dreams take you – from casual playing through to a full-on recording session or a live concert performance.

Open the door to new musical journeys
The Korg Wavedrum delivers inspiration and satisfaction to creative performers seeking new realms of expressiveness and sounds. Moving beyond traditional drum and percussion sounds, Wavedrum also provides totally new and unique sounds that are not available in the real world, and offers new ways of playing to achieve new levels of musical expression. Imagine changing the pitch randomly with each hit, or playing melodic phrases simply by choosing a musical scale and applying pressure to the head. Imagine no more, Wavedrum does it all. While opening new doors, Wavedrum is faithful to its roots. Traditional hand-drum techniques, such as adding pitch and tonal changes to a strike by pressing the head, have been previously unobtainable on an electronic instrument. No longer. Wavedrum can process and respond to these intimate performance gestures as no other instrument can. These same techniques provide a wealth of performance possibilities. For example, Wavedrum can produce sitar and tambura sounds at the same time. You can produce tambura sounds alone by hitting the head, adding the sitar sounds by applying pressure to the head before hitting it. Applying further pressure can change the pitch of the sitar within the selected scale. Only Wavedrum is able to offer such astounding versatility.

Multiple sensors deliver previously unimaginable expressiveness
Acoustic percussion instruments produce sound naturally, in direct response to a physical impact, be it gentle or abrupt. Wavedrum, although an electronic musical instrument, creates sound exactly the same way. The head and rim pickups are directly used as a sound source to be processed by the DSP (Digital Signal Processing) algorithms, and they also trigger the PCM sound engine. Together with the pressure sensor under the head, the Wavedrum responds to each and every subtle finger and hand motion (hitting, rubbing, scratching etc). as well as to the traditional hand drum techniques of open shot, slap shot, heel and toe, mute, etc. Of course, the Wavedrum responds not just to your hands, but to other playing materials as well, such as sticks, mallets, and brushes. The rim has two types of notches, small and large, and these can be used to elicit a tremolo-type effect by scratching with sticks, etc. Combining the rim sounds with the head sounds can create an even richer, more original performance.

DSP synthesis and PCM samples combine for endless sonic exploration
The Wavedrum contains 36 DSP algorithms to conjure an abundance of synthesis methods; analog, additive, non-linear, physical modeling, etc. Using these building blocks, you can create various instrument sounds, natural sounds, or purely synthetic sounds – in addition to Wavedrum’s own unique voice. The PCM sound engine – the other important part of Wavedrum's sound creation system – contains 200 sampled sounds; 100 for the head, and 100 for the rim, with velocity-switching capabilities. Certain algorithms allow you to combine a specific DSP method and a PCM instrument to the head, and assign a different combination to the rim. This method of controlling multiple sounds within a single program delivers a fantastic playing experience, rich in sound. In other algorithms, the velocity and tone of the strike are used to control the PCM sound, creating a responsive interaction that far surpasses any sample-playback device, one rivaling that of an acoustic instrument.

Planet-wide percussion
Wavedrum begins with a foundation of traditional pop/rock drum sounds such as snares, kick drums, tom toms, and more. Wavedrum also opens new vistas of sound, delivering a wealth of percussion sounds from many eras and cultures around the globe and throughout time. Ethnic percussion instruments, although seemingly simple in structure and performance, are capable of expressing the complex emotions of a culture. These include popular percussion instruments such as cajons, congas and tablas; metallic instruments such as cowbells, and triangles, along with rare ethnic percussion sounds. With Wavedrum, you have instant access to instruments such as the udu, a clay pod percussion instrument; the jegog, a bamboo gamelan marimba from the island of Bali; a talking drum from Africa, gongs, and many other instruments that often require special playing skills. Not strictly limited to percussion sounds, Wavedrum includes stringed instruments such as the sitar, koto, and berimbau as well. For every sound, Wavedrum adds its own new modes of expression, in addition to faithfully re-creating the original sounds.

Enjoy 100 preset programs; create 100 programs that are all your own
The 100 preset Wavedrum programs range from high-fidelity emulative drum and percussion sounds to a world of new and unique sounds. There are a range of parameters available for editing and tweaking to create new sounds to suit your own music or style of playing. In addition to making changes to pitch, decay time, loudness, reverb, delay, and curve (intensity) of the pressure sensor, you can completely alter the sound by, for example, changing the head material parameter from skin to metal. The combination of DSP and sampled sounds can also be changed to create totally new sounds from scratch. These new programs (up to 100) can be stored in the user area. The Wavedrum also has a Live Mode, which can store up to 12 favorite programs (from the preset or user programs) for selection instantaneously during performance.

Jam-along functions for added fun
Sure, you can enjoy the Wavedrum just by playing the sounds alone, but the dynamic and interactive Wavedrum adds some special features that provide jam-along abilities for fun or practice. Practice your paradiddles or simply wail away along to 100 loop phrases from various musical genres. Using the AUX input, you can mix in the signal from any audio source – CD, MP3 player, or even an additional Wavedrum. The options are endless.

Ready, Set, Go
Portable, compact, and lightweight, Wavedrum is ready for any musical outing. Hold Wavedrum on your lap, or play it standing like a hand drum. Place Wavedrum on an ordinary snare drum stand, or add Wavedrum to any electronic or acoustic drum kit. Use Wavedrum as part of a DJ set-up, or add a percussive element to your keyboard rig. Wavedrum is the ideal accent for any vocalist or front person. Using the headphone output allows you to practice in private, anytime, anyplace – without fretting about the neighbors!

-Streamlined audio interface
With a focus on simplicity and ease-of-use, the AUDIOGRAM3 delivers a compact audio interface complete with both a mono and stereo input channel. Providing maximum flexibility for recording from almost any audio source, the mono input channel features a combo-type connector that can be set for microphone or line level input, while the stereo channel has both phone and RCA connectors. Of course, as this interface is USB bus-powered, it needs no external power supply and is an ideal solution for mobile applications.

Providing maximum flexibility for many different recording situations, the AUDIOGRAM3 even supports simultaneous recording of the instrument or vocal on the mono channel with the audio being input via the stereo channel. For example, you could easily use this feature to record yourself playing along to a CD or MD backing track or singing to a karaoke track created on a portable keyboard.

Fender Guitars Standard HSS Stratocaster (Black, Maple Fretboard) - 2011

New Fender Guitars Standard HSS Stratocaster (Black, Maple Fretboard)
-Classic Strat Styling with Modern Features
When Leo Fender introduced the world to his newest creation, the Stratocaster®, nobody could possibly have known it would change the face of contemporary music forever. In the beginning, there was just one Strat® configuration with three single coil pickups. Today there's a Strat to match everyone's budget or their playing style. The HSS Fat Strat™ is a modern take on a classic design with the addition of a humbucking pickup in the bridge position and special switching for a nearly infinite range of tones. So whether you play country, blues, heavy metal or R&B, the Fat Strat can deliver the sound you want.

-Lightweight alder body with fully shielded body cavities
Like most contemporary Strats, the Fat Strat features a lightweight, "comfort contoured" alder body which has actually changed very little since the first Strats rolled off the production lines in 1954. However, this new version has shielded body cavities for quieter operation and reduced hum, which is particularly important with single-coil pickups - they sound great but could get a bit noisy at times.

-Vintage Style tremolo with high mass bridge block
While there's no denying the fact that Leo Fender's guitar designs were an amazing blend of art and engineering, it was the erroneously named synchronized tremolo (it's actually a vibrato) that may well have been his most inspired bit of engineering. With it you could bend notes or even entire chords up or down without throwing the guitar out of tune. Even though Fender has continued to improve upon the tremolo, many players simply prefer the look and feel of the original. In the Fat Strat®, there's also a high mass bridge block for improved sustain and overall tone.

-Two standard single coil pickups (neck and middle) with bridge Humbucker™
The Stratocaster® was the first production line guitar with three pickups, and that basic configuration is just as popular today as it was in 1954. While the Fat Strat has three pickups, only two are the original single-coil design. By adding a humbucking pickup with coil tapping in the bridge position, Fender has added some slightly more aggressive sounds to the Strat's sonic arsenal.

Maple neck and fingerboard with modern "C" shape and satin polyester finish
Leo Fender wasn't a guitar player. In fact, he got his start repairing radios. So he had no idea that guitars weren't supposed to have maple necks. In time, those blond maple necks became a Fender trademark. While the company eventually offered rosewood fingerboards, this Fat Strat has a maple neck and fingerboard, which can deliver a little extra bite. In keeping with contemporary tastes, this Strat has the modern "C" shape maple neck with a satin polyester finish.

Kendang - Javanese Drums

Kendang/Javanese Drums

Kendangs are smaller then a Bedug.  There are usually three to four Kendangs in a gamelan.  These drums are in different sizes, however, they are all of similar barrel shape.  Both heads of each drum are covered with a skin, usually from goat or buffalo.  Each drum has two different sizes of head, one is bigger then the other.  The larger head, which produces the lower sounds, is usually placed to the player's right.

Kendangs are cradled in small wooden stands.  Sometimes, the smallest drum, Kendang Ketipung is held in the lap of the drum player.  The player uses his hands to play the drums.  Usually the drums has a relatively easy part with a few strokes and uncomplicated rhythm.

The names of these drums from the largest to the smallest are: Kendang Gending,  Kendang Wayangan, Kendang Ciblon, and Kendang Ketipung.

Function
The kendhang player shoulders a great deal of responsibility in the gamelan, for the role of the kendhang is to establish and maintain the tempo, to lead the gamelan through all tempo changes within a piece of music, to decide whether or not to move immediately from one piece of music into another without stopping, and to signal the end of each piece. The kendhang ageng can be played together with the kendhang ketipung by the same player, an arrangement known as kendhang kalih, or it can be played alone by one person, known as kendhang satunggal or kendhang satu. Compared to the ciblon and wayang, this kendhang is played with relatively little ornamentation and is characterized by very deep, resonating sounds.

Korg Kaossilator KO-1

The Korg Kaossilator KO-1 is a portable dynamic-phrase synthesizer manufactured by Korg. It is capable of producing a wide range of sounds, can produce a continuous music loop, and can be tuned to various keys and scales.

Being related to the Korg Kaoss Pads, the Kaossilator is a synth that is played touching a pad that is not unlike a trackpad on laptop computers. For most sounds, moving horizontally on the touchpad changes the pitch over a range of two octaves (in one case, only one octave; for several sounds the range is much more than two octaves). For some sounds, horizontal movement affects a non-pitch parameter. Moving vertically usually modulates the sound in some way.

The Kaossilator is portable, running off of four AA batteries or a 4.5 volt adapter, with the dimensions 106 mm (W) x 129 mm (D) x 29 mm (H) (4.17" (W) x 5.08" (D) x 1.14" (H)). It weighs 154 g (5.43 oz) without batteries. There are spots to affix lanyards. Outputs consist of a pair of female RCA-style plugs and a stereo mini-phone 1/8-inch jack. It is nearly the same shape as the Korg mini-KP, differing only where the mini-KP has a pair of RCA-style input jacks. The Kaossilator casing is yellow with a silvery metal face-plate. A limited-edition pink casing was also produced, and for a time it was sold at a significantly lower price than the yellow model at many music shops.

The Kaossilator features 100 programs, which are mostly synthesizer voices and sound effects, including acoustic (guitar, trumpet, piano), percussion, and electronic sounds. The last 10 programs are complete rhythm-patterns, but since percussion sounds are included in the programs, users can develop their own rhythm-patterns by layering multiple overdubbed sounds. Programs are indicated only by a letter-and-two-digit designation on the LED display but are given specific names in the instructions.[1] Most instruments can be locked into various keys and scales. The Kaossilator supports 31 different scale patterns including chromatic, blues and diatonic scales as well as more exotic scales such as Japanese and Egyptian.

The Kaossilator also has a gate arpeggiator and a loop function that allows the layering of instruments to produce loops. The loop recording function is somewhat limited, as the maximum length is two bars in 4/4 time. Despite this limitation, some artists have recorded full-length albums with the Kaossilator[2][3][4][5].

It is possible to overcome the two-bar limit as the Kaossilator records audio to memory. To do this the user sets the tempo to the desired value – 150 for example – and records his part. The tempo is then set to exactly half the tempo of before, in this case 75. When played back one hears the first two bars but then two more will be available afterwards.

Another way to fully overcome the two-bar limit is by powering up the Kaossilator while holding down the Tap and Loop Rec buttons. Doing this will make four bars available (by setting the Loop Length to 16), but this disables the Undo function[6]

This massive data stream creates the rock-solid, latency-free control for which DJs worldwide have hailed NS7. Because NS6's communication is based upon MIDI, you can use it with a variety of MIDI software.

Sam Gribben, General Manager at Serato says, "The Serato and Numark partnership has already produced the very successful NS7, NSFX and V7. We're proud to be releasing the NS6, a controller which provides a DJing experience unlike any other. 4 decks, FX and amazing sound - it's going to be massive". We couldn't agree more.

Numark V7 Motorized Turntable Software Controller

The single turntable has evolved.

The Numark V7 Motorized Turntable Software Controller is the turntable for today's DJ. The V7 delivers outstanding feel and unprecedented power in a single-platter digital DJ controller. The Numark V7 is based around the acclaimed adjustable torque, motorized-platter design from Numark's NS7 turntable and delivers a host of professional features including real vinyl and a slipmat that analog turntablists will love, plus turntable control at 10 times the resolution of standard MIDIs, mouse-less library navigation, and Strip Search virtual-needle drop. The V7's linking function enables you to combine multiple V7 controllers with your choice of any mixer and your Mac or PC for a completely customizable, totally seamless performance environment. The Numark V7 software controller includes a professional 24-bit audio interface and contains premium faders, knobs, and buttons including controls for selecting tracks and blending audio effects in the included Serato ITCH software.
Perfect feel:
Forget your experiences with other controllers. The Numark V7 has a 7", motorized, high-torque aluminum turntable platter. The turntable offers both modern and classic settings that alter the feel to model the feel you prefer. A 7", legit vinyl record with 45rpm adapter sits on a real slipmat. There's no simulation here—the V7 is the real deal. Numark used nothing but premium, rugged, rubberized buttons and knobs for an unquestionably high-quality feel. Its recognizable, professional appearance is supported by a clean design in matte and glossy black. The V7 is housed in a heavy-gauge, industrial-strength metal casing that is ready for the torture of travel.
Professional setup:
Forget the mouse. Forget the keyboard. The Numark V7 controller renders software perfectly simple to operate, with its click knob and large, backlit buttons navigating though your music library. You'll spend less time looking at the screen and more time enjoying performing thanks to the visual feedback you get from the V7's extensive LEDs and hands-on controls. Grab a pair of V7s and your favorite mixer, such as the DXM PRO, and you're ready to rock. The Numark V7 controller has onboard audio outputs, so it's the only piece of gear you need to connect to a PA system or powered speakers. The front panel contains a mic input, an RCA line input, and both 1/4" and 1/8" headphone outputs with volume control. To complete your system, you can add-on Numark's Laptop Stand (sold separately; see item #583102) to elevate your computer to comfortable height. Numark's custom 7" Color Vinyl records (sold separately; see items #583098 and 583099) enable you to customize the look of V7 with eye-catching, translucent looks. Precision control:
The V7 sends control information over USB at more than 10 times the standard MIDI rate. This innovative communication technique yields extremely high-precision, low-latency control. There's nothing like dropping the needle on a record for quickly locating a point in the track. Numark took that idea and developed Numark's own modern take on it with the Strip Search, a unique virtual-needle-drop touch strip. You can locate a point instantly within the track using the on-screen waveform and Strip Search. 5 hot-cue-assign buttons on each deck digitally mark your cues on the track. These marker points are recallable in ITCH, and you can even load Scratch LIVE cue points into ITCH. Numark developed an extensive loop-controls section for creative remix capabilities. You can choose between manual and auto-loop functions, while an automatic BPM analyzer further assists loop makers. Creating automatic smart loops of any measure length is a breeze, and you can mutilate and modify to your heart's content with a variety of controls such as Doubling, Halving, Shift, and manual controls. Multiple loop banks make the V7 a great choice for scratch and club DJs alike. Beat matching is straight ahead with 100mm, smooth, stiff pitch sliders. Plus and minus buttons are back by popular request for bending. There's also a zero-point LED, so it's easy to know when you're in the middle.
Audio quality:
Numark took extraordinary care in selecting the components of the audio signal chain. The V7 contains a host of professional audio connectors and a multichannel, 24-bit USB digital-audio interface. It outputs high-resolution, 24-bit audio to the sound system on XLRs and RCAs. The high-definition, post-mix analog audio output features a minimized circuit path containing only one audiophile-grade bipolar capacitor. This optimized design maximizes phase coherence, ensuring that the audio is tight and punchy. Serato ITCH Software:
The V7 comes with Serato ITCH. For one-to-one communication, each knob, button, and control on the V7 corresponds exactly to that function in the software. Serato ITCH is already familiar if you use Scratch LIVE. ITCH builds on Scratch LIVE and adds some new, key features. ITCH makes timecode a thing of the past, so you won't need to worry about needles skipping or vinyl wearing out. You can load your Scratch LIVE crates, loops, presets, and cue points seamlessly in ITCH. The V7 also works with most other MIDI DJ software and supports iTunes.
